From Third World to First World, and Back Again | Julian Fernandez | TEDxYouth@AEL

Julian Fernandez's talk is an argument about what specific things will drag a country down into failure even though it is doing well, and what will skyrocket a nation into success even if it is doing very poorly. The talk compares nations from South America and the Four Asian Tigers, teaching how they used to be, and how from there they got to where they are now. Julian Fernandez is currently in 9th grade. He was born in the United States, but also has a passport from Spain and Venezuela. He has lived in California, Singapore, Canada, and now Argentina. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
