Most people âidolizeâ what they view as normal because it is a version of life they believe to be true, but what if someone told you there was a phone on the moon? If that is their version of the truth, who are you to say itâs wrong? Could you meet somewhere in the middle, or agree to disagree? For Fr. Christopher Robinson an experience he had before he became a priest provided the initial spark that led to his talk âReplacing Our Idols with Icons.â Fr. Robinson is a member of the Congregation of the Mission, which was founded by St. Vincent de Paul. He was admitted to the Vincentians in 1980 and received his bachelorâs degree in philosophy at St. Mary of the Barrens College Seminary in 1983. Shortly after, he professed his religious vows and was ordained in 1989. He also holds a Master of Religious Education, a Master of Divinity, a Master of Arts in Systematic Theology and a Sacrae Theologiae Licentiate. Robinson has served as the director of Catholic Campus Ministry and as an adjunct faculty member at DePaul since 1994, as well as an interim pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.
