After serendipitously taking a class to explore the exploitation of foreign workers, Clare Ashcraft’s message is of one to raise awareness about the prevalence of sweatshops around the world. With the hope of someday abolishing them already, Clare inspires the audience to be intentional, knowledgeable consumers. Clare Ashcraft is a freshman at the Dayton Regional STEM School. She enjoys reading, writing, and photography. She participates in science fair, Destination Imagination, and Key Club. After high school, Clare plans to go to college and study philosophy. She encourages teens to understand the #powerofadollar and help #stopsweatshops. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
