Brave Enough to Speak | Gracie Packard | TEDxColoradoSprings

Gracie Packard is a survivor of suicide and mental illness. After being prompted to speak out about her hurt after a social media post about suicide prevention, she was able to find recovery, and now shares her story and information on hope for those struggling to work on breaking the stigma surrounding suicide and mental illness. Gracie Packard is a high school student, passionate about seeing change in the way we view mental health and suicide. As a survivor herself, she works to promote awareness through talks, campaigns, and events. She also aims to live a life of honesty and vulnerability in order to work on decreasing the suffocating stigma surrounding mental health topics. When not doing advocacy work, she can be found working on school, spending time with her cat, taking care of her plants, and almost constantly smiling. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
