A sustainable development model for red sea rural areas | Omar Sabaa | TEDxGUC

The SRSDP (South Red Sea Development Project) is a project dedicated to the sustainable development of the communities in the South of the Red Sea. Their main goal is to better the lives of these communities through inclusive development projects, with a focus on energy and water supply, sustainable housing, waste water and solid waste management, and economic development. We are also very passionate about discovering, learning from and preserving the historic diverse cultures found abundantly in the area. Omar Sabaa, SRSDP’s cofounder will talk to us about the initiated project to develop Qolaan’s preserved in Marsa Alam. Installing solar panels, helping fishers to have their storage areas, assisting Qolaan’s people in education, homes building and more developmental projects has been the focus of SRSDP lately to develop this area. Omar Sabaa is an entrepreneur, philanthropist and scuba diver. He is the founder of two startups Antakh and ScubaDive Egypt. He is also the co-founder of South Red Sea Development Project a sustainable development initiative dedicated to bettering the lives of rural communities in the south of the Red Sea.
