As Nancy Goldman had once wisely said, humor is a social corrective. It identifies itself with our experiences, making us think more flexibly, and hence enables us to re-frame our situations. Dr. Manan Thakrar, a part time doctor and full time comedian, delivers a quirky, relatable and exciting talk that validates the above adage. While tickling the funny bone, just as he slowly would with your intellect, Dr. Thakrar engages the audience with numerous jokes and anecdotes. While sharing his thoughts about how we strive to become more competent, as well as responsible individuals, he finds several ways to make the audience burst into fits of laughter. Dr Manan Thakrar hailing from a small town in Gujarat, Jamnagar, has not only been practicing Medicine but also been well known for an initiative with the simple idea of making schools somewhere that children look forward to going. The small changes that he has created in a couple of Schools at Gujarat have opened up a completely new set of ideas regarding the much needed modernization of the education system. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
