The Name They Put On Me | Alex Wang | TEDxHKBU

I am not only an educator. By involving the children to learning, I recognized myself more than anyone can imagine. As the pioneer who has been awarded titles of “super teacher” 、“power teacher” and”Excellent teacher of 2014” in the education industry in Taiwan, Mr. Wang was not being complacent by the fame, and he continued to enlighten either the underprivileged children in rural areas or teachers in Taiwan by his unique ‘MAPS’ teaching method and oral communication. The “MAPS” teaching method he proposed has proved to be successful for enhancing students’ abilities in learning. He bent on the aspiration of becoming a teacher due to the inspirational lessons delivered by his three teachers, who illuminated him in his dark period. His ardour kept increasing that he was eager to carry the children to the luminous future. By teaching in one of the poorest rural area in Taiwan for over 17 years, his dedications and achievements have been extensively recognized and promoted. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
