Precarious Balance - Dancing on the Edge ... | Daksha Sheth | TEDxSIULavale

It shows how dance can bring balance to your life. She is an iconoclast who has trodden a difficult path in pursuing various dance forms after carving a prestigious reputation for herself in the world of Kathak for 20 years. She is first Indian woman to perform Mayurbhanj Chhau as a soloist as well as to find a dance company. Her strength is her beauty to amalgamate the classical dance forms with the folk dance forms and martial arts. An excerpt from her diary : " I am a gambler by nature, and love the risk of experimenting, improvising, trying new things, both in life and in art. I am comfortable with uncertainty, and enjoy moving in new and unknown territory. I enjoy success, but I dont fear failure." The Sanger Noatak Academy awarded her for creative and experimental explorations in the field of dance on 28th September 2010. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
