Bringing Education to Slums of India | Rajesh Kumar | TEDxIIMUdaipur

Though education is a fundamental right in India, many of India’s poor still don’t attend schools. Rajesh Kumar, who is an ordinary Delhi shopkeeper is doing something extra-ordinary under a railway bridge. His idea is to change the face of education in India, and his vision is to bring the education to poorest of poor. Rajesh Kumar is a shopkeeper by profession but spends hours every morning teaching around 80 children from the poorest of the poor in India's capital. As the Delhi Metro from the Yamuna Bank station rumbles on every day, something extraordinary takes place under its tracks. Children from the neighboring slum gather here to let their imagination take over. And helping their dreams take shape is a West Delhi shopkeeper Rajesh Kumar. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
