Studying as a Profession | Ayşe İrem Sönmez | TEDxYouth@IEL

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. "Studying" became a profession nowadays. As a student Ayse Irem Sonmez talks about what it is to be educated. She questions whether studying for school can be related to education. Finally, she explains how instead of stu-dying she is stu-rocking. Ayse Irem Sonmez is a 4th year medical student at Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty. She took psychology and neuroscience classes at Yale Summer Session in 2012 and attended summer internship program of McLean Hospital in 2014. Her interests include molecular and behavioral psychiatric research. She is also the head of public health research group, a member of Turkish Art Music chorus and a volleyball player at her faculty. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
