What Gender Means to Me | Laura Fink | TEDxYouth@Dayton

Grounded in her own journey of self-discovery, Laura Fink’s TED talk explores the gender spectrum, the fluid range of gender identities between the extremes of strictly male or female, and how individuals can counter gender-based bigotry, bullying and hate with respect, acceptance and love. Laura Fink is currently a senior at Tippecanoe High School. Outside of her classes, she is a four-year varsity member/team captain of the cross country team and a four-year choir member. She has written multiple pieces for her school’s literary journal, one of which became the inspiration for her TED talk. Next year, she is planning on majoring in biology with a minor in French and an interest in pursuing pre-medicine. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
