How My Adoption Helped Me to Become the Best Version of Myself | Alyssa Belcher | TEDxYouth@Dayton

Adopted from Korea and raised in America, Alyssa Belcher uses her own adoption experience to understand how everyone can be challenged to seek their identity. Her TED talk focuses on how she has learned to intertwine both cultures to create her own unique identity. Alyssa Belcher is 17 years old and a senior at Butler High. Ever since she was little, she enjoyed creative writing and used it as a tool to destress. In her spare time, she likes to learn choreography for various East Asian pop songs and perform with her dance group at various conventions! She is aiming to pursue East Asian Studies in college and work in foreign affairs and translating. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
