Building Bridges | Moina Shaiq | TEDxAmadorValleyHigh

Moina reaches out to her local community to arrange "Meet a Muslim" conversations to educate my fellow Americans about who she is as a Muslim. In her Talk, she describes what her motivations were for starting these events and why she is still driven to build bridges with those around her. Moina Shaiq is a resident of Fremont for the past 35 years. She is the mother of four and a grandmother of two. As an active community member of the Tri-City Community devoted to building bridges of understanding, she serves as president of the Tri-City Interfaith Council and founder of the Meet a Muslim initiative. She is also a recipient of “Woman of the year” award by Assembly member Bill Quirk. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
