In her powerful and inspirational Talk, Martina shares her experience with racism ever since a child at school and how it came to internally oppress her. Yet, she overcame it by embracing her identity, not conforming to others' ideas of it, and she explains how people - oppressed or oppressor - can put an end to racism. Born and raised in Florence by Chinese parents, and now a senior at the International School of Florence, Martina's life has always been influenced by multiculturalism. By dealing with oppression first hand, she was inspired to embark on a journey of self-discovery and to turn her struggle into her strength. She has a tendency to question human existence and to over-analyse everything. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
