Bonnie Boswell talks about the transformative power of women to create peace at home, in the community and the world. Bonnie Boswell is the executive producer of THE POWERBROKER: Whitney Young's Fight for Civil Rights, airing on PBS' Independent Lens, February 18, 2013. She graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in Anthropology and holds a master's degree in City Planning from M.I.T. Ms. Boswell began her career as a editorial broadcaster for NBC New York. She produced a weekly newsmagazine program for NBC New York, then joined ABC's, "20/20," as an associate producer. After moving to Los Angeles, she became a news reporter for NBC Los Angeles. She received a "Golden Mike Award for "Seeds of Peace," a one-hour news special she produced and hosted NBC. Ms. Boswell also co-hosted "Lawson Live," a live, national television talk show. Ms. Boswell's articles have been published in the Los Angeles Times, Essence and the Radcliffe Quarterly." She has been a guest on NBC's "Today" show and the CBS radio network. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
