Let's talk science - it saves lives | Lorenz Adlung | TEDxUniHeidelberg

In his TEDx Talk Lorenz advocates for scientific freedom, independence and collaboration across all borders. Lorenz Adlung studied systems biology at the University of Heidelberg and just completed his PhD at the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ), Heidelberg. Lorenz is a true science enthusiast: He regularly performs science slams, gave a speech and a dedicated freestyle rap at the Science March in Heidelberg and is an active scientific mentor for young high school students. While working on his PhD, combining mathematics and biology to study the complex pathways of cancer formation, Lorenz realised that there is a gap of communication between scientists of different fields and that only interdisciplinary work will ensure scientific progress. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
