Will care robots care? | Astrid Weiss | TEDxTUWien

It is no secret anymore: Society is aging. There is the vision of care robots supporting us in maintaining independent living at home in the future. But will these social service robots actually care about us? And does it matter if they do or not? Astrid Weiss reflects on the future human-robot relationships with respect to elderly care. Astrid Weiss studied how humans interact with new technology. For her research on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) she has been awarded a Hertha Firnberg grant from the FWF Science Fund, a postdoc programme aimed at promoting the university career of young female research scientists.
