The Power of Music | Deborah Grow | TEDxTsukubaSalon

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In this talk, Deborah suggested that music has the power to enhance children's brain functions such as memory, reason, perception, imagination, will, and intuition (Deborah called them "MR PIWI"). Adept at wearing many hats, Deborah Glow is an author, singer, songwriter, teacher, speaker, and voice over actor. After spending many years in New York City, where she performed in Off-Broadway shows, operas and national television commercials, Deborah now is absorbed in helping children in Japan through music and English. Deborah formed an English and music school, called The English Garden, in Tsukuba city. Besides running the school and producing books and songs for children, Deborah also teaches at University of Tsukuba. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
