Bucket Line | Sergio van Santvoort Vorst | TEDxAmsterdam 2014 (SIGN LANGUAGE)

www.tedxamsterdam.com Sergio van Santvoort Vorst helps those who find themselves overwhelmed. Through events in his personal life, Sergio found out the hard way that people who need help the most are often the ones who find it exceptionally difficult to ask for it. Keeping these people mind, Sergio founded the Bucket Line foundation - http://www.bucketline.nl/. As with so many such organizations, Sergio came to this after finding himself in less than ideal family circumstances. His parents were taken ill, almost at the same time and eventually succumbed to their ailments. When his wife was diagnosed with cancer he realized the exactly how overwhelming the role of the caregiver eventually becomes. He began to think of ways in which he could do something to alleviate the distress of caregivers, to help them in their day-to-day life. Fortunately, his wife survived, but Sergio continued in his noble quest and founded the Bucket Line. The Bucket line helps to co-ordinate the needs of the caregivers with those who are best able to help them in their tasks. Through this foundation, people who are in need of help with specific tasks are matched with those in their neighborhoods who are willing to lend a helping hand.
