As a 9th grade student Mariam Alozairi was struck by the rise of diabetes and obesity in her home country of Kuwait. Inspired to do something, she founded Y-Walk a nation-wide youth walk-a-thon. In this compelling talk Alozairi rehashes her journey and failures as a youth activist dedicated to rendering change. Mariam Alozairi is a 10th grade student at the American School of Kuwait. She is the founder of Y Walk and has a vested interest in healthy living and community engagement.
